Meet an Attorney: Matthew Gobbato

Expert probate attorney Matthew Gobatto also assists clients with estate planning and trust administration.

For Matthew Gobbato no aspect of his work is more important than his direct contact with clients.

“Everyone’s situation, everyone’s story, is unique,” he says. “So I think it’s very important to listen to their needs and address their concerns. I sit down with them and hear what they want to discuss and then delve into ‘How do we solve this problem?’”

Matthew concentrates his practice on probate matters, estate planning, real estate and trust administration. A native of the Northwest Valley, he received his J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School (Texas A&M) of Law in 2011 and joined Mushkatel, Gobbato, & Kile, P.L.L.C. in 2015 after working for another firm.

In addition to estate planning and trust administration, Matthew is also devoting an increasing percentage of his practice to probate-related litigation and assists clients in the formation of business entities.

“My days are interesting because I have a lot of variety with respect to the work that I’m doing,” he says. “I get a mix, which keeps it engaging and allows me to decompress a bit when I move from one issue to the next.”

Regardless of the case type, Matthew believes listening closely to what clients are saying and hoping to achieve is always of the utmost importance.

“People come to you almost as a cathartic outlet at times when they’re having an issue,” he says. “Being able to listen to them and give them the advice and the information necessary to move forward takes a bit of the stress off them.  I think they appreciate the fact that I’ve taken the time to listen to them and helped to come up with a solution.”

In addition to serving his clients well, Matthew Gobbato is also devoted to serving his community. He is active in Leadership West, a nonprofit corporation focused on developing civic and community leaders in the West Valley area.

He and his wife are the parents of two young children, which takes up most of his remaining time. But when he can, he enjoys golf, mountain biking, and reading.
